Hi Cysters,

I was diagnosed with PCOS a long time ago,around 1999 and used bcp's alongwith aldactone for a year and a half.Since stopping these meds,my periods were fine until about a year ago.I started developing acne and teh facial hair has increased.I waited,thinking it would subside on its own.Now the doc has done a hormonal blood routine and found that my Serum Testosterone level was the only hormone out of range and that too very slightly.The normal range was 14-80 ng/dl and mine was recorded as 76 ng/dl.

Now my question is,does such a slight variation cause acne and increase in facial hair?And would Femcon be effective in reducing these symptoms?Has anyone tried this pill before?Also can i start taking the pill today or do i have to wait for my next period?im a little confused about this.My periods are irregular and they occur anywhere between 21-28 days apart.So i dont exactly know when to expect my next one.My last period was over 8 days ago.

I was advised to use Femcon Fe by my OBGYB aswell. He recommended it strongly over other BCP's for the treatment of PCOS symptoms. It has more hormones than say Yasmin or Yaz.

I'm currently on Femcon and have not seen a difference in acne nor facial hair. I have only been on it for half a month. I finish my last set of active pills on Monday. I control my acne using Differin Gel and/or Duac. As for the hair, I pluck, wax, or Nair.

To begin Femcon, it is recommended that you wait for your next cycle.

Claudia,
Looks like we both have been using it for the same time.I too have been on Femcon for only about a week.Have you noticed any difference so far although i know it is perhaps too soon for anything to be noticed.Also is there any problem of weight gain while using this?Any ideas?

I read that 60-100% of women notice changes over a period of 6-12 months so hopefully we will see a difference as time goes by.
