Unhappy AF BC Problems?

So I'm kinda frustrated. I was on O-Tri-cyclen from May-August, but once I started having 2 heavy periods a month, my gyno changed me to NeCon 1-28/35, another type of BCP. Well, the first period was so light it was barely there for 3 days, and i was a little concerned...The 2nd month came and it was normal, the average 5-7 day cycle.

The third month (I feel like the 12 days of Christmas, haha) it was nonexistent, but I got the acne, cramps, etc - things I usually get when I have my period. I had also lost about 5-7 pounds that month (i started running) so I thought maybe that was it, but because i freak myself whenever I fool around w/ my boyfriend (although we've never had sex and most times he wears a condom around me because i make him - i know, tmi) i took a preggers test which of course was negative.

So now we're on the 4th month of this pill, and once again it came on the right day, but it already seems like it's going away (sorta more like the 1st month) - I don't know if this is normal to be this jumpy! And of course I immediately worry, well could i be pg, because i know that you can have a period (or spotting) and still be - again, no sex, but more of this outercourse crap, and the typical *menstrual spotting* time was a few days ago - so much i won't go near him now, he's getting frustrated! So i'm just wondering what you girls think? I think i'm gonna call the doctor and see if this is normal, because personally, i don't like feeling this kinda on-edge feeling. It is an improvement from last month, that's for sure, but I still don't like it.

Sorry so long, but what do you girls think?

I wouldn't worry about this kind of Af on the pill. Some pills make me do this too. Very frustrating especially when you get to worrying about being P.G. It is highly doubtful you could be pregnant. It is is more likely that it is the formulation in this pill. Necon is higher in estrogen affect but I am unsure about its affect on the endometrial lining. On some pills I have only had spotting one or two days. That is still considered a period on pills. Some women might actually prefer this and your doctor will be quick to mention this.

Another thought. I have read that spiro. can affect AF. You may ask about this sometime.

Don't worry. Enjoy your holidays and if it makes you crazy switch to a different pill.

Chris

Thanx for your reply!

I actually did call the doc this morning and she said a lot of what you said (you're a smart woman ). Since it makes me uncomfortable (and it does cos I'm absolutely paranoid! haha) I decided to change my dosage to a little stronger, and she assured me that I could always change it back if I don't like the new one they're putting me on.

Thank you so much, all this helps me feel relief!

I'm so glad! No need to worry when it is unneecessary. There are enough things to worry about. Hopefully this one will be better.

Happy Holidays!
