So after months of AF every other week, I went to my gyno and was diagnosed with PCOS. Pretty much hit every hallmark of the disorder, so she put me on 500mg of Metformin every night. After one month of Metformin, still got my period every other week. So she prescribed Prometrium 400mg every night for 10 days to be taken along with the Metformin.
I know that every case is different, but so many women on here don't get AF at all, I feel like I'm an the odd woman out. Is anyone out there in my boat? Frequent periods and being treated the same way?
I have been having such anxiety, I'm almost 25, and desperately want a family in the future. I feel like the rug was just pulled out from under me, I just don't want to be doing anything wrong.

nice to meet u, i have strange periods too, i can go 9 - 10 months without one, then other times i have them like you every other week!
I am on metformin 500mg x 3 times a day and it doesnt seem to be doing anything although my specialist reassures me all the time. The only thing i get from my doctor is northisterone to stop the bleeding when i bleed too much, like a few months back when i bled for 48 days none stop!!
It does make you anxious and worried, but there are so many people like you so your not alone so dont ever think you are xxxxxxxx
