Question AF / Provera/ Met question

For those taking met and have waited for af to show up, how long did you wait before taking Provera to induce a cycle? If you have done this, did the provera cycle seem to help get things going.

The reason I ask is that I haven't had af since April and have just started met 2 weeks ago. The Dr. gave me a prescription for the provera so that if I don't have af before it's time to see her again in Oct then I can take it to bring on af.

I thought that maybe I would give myself 2 more weeks to give myself a full month on met to see if anything happens. Any advice?

Hi ya Blue,

I no longer need provera to get AF going but I am curious...

If you are 100% certain you are not pregnant why not start now? Is it just because you want to see if the Met is working?

I personally would first be sure I am not pregnant, then start the provera now because you don't go off the met just cause your using provera. Then hopefully by the following cycle the met will be bringing on AF without the provera, but I wouldnt wait around for the possibilty. I certainly would not wait till Oct. when the last AF was April.

Keep us updated on what you decide to do and best of luck. I hope AF gets here fast and gets straightened out!

I took met for one month before i ovulated. I would try and give it some time. Even if you take provera, you may not start cycling like normal. You may have to wait longer for met to show you that it is working.

Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I'm just being really impatient because like everything, I want it to happen right now. I think maybe I will give it 2 more weeks and see how things are going. This way, I will have given the met a month to get into my system. Some days I do feel like something is going on down there. I get the tenderness in my ovaries and down there. I have also started charting and right now it looks like one of those ekg strips...up and down...up and down. :-)

lyrech091969 - thank you so much for the flower gift. It is my very first one and I really appreciate it. Had to tell hubby first thing that I got one...had to have him check it out too. Small things make me happy.
