I have been on Vitex for 13 weeks and on week 11 I experienced some spotting and nothing since, until last night I experiences some spotting and today the same thing, I have been having some pains in my breast, but I don’t know if it’s cause my body is trying to regulate or what. I decided that I would give the Vitex and other herbs a rest until this little cycle I guess is over.
If any of you have any other helpful information on what could be going on, please let me know.
Even share your experience with Vitex with me.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Keep going with the vitex....I think your body is trying to regulate itself and sometimes the herbs take a while to work. If you stop the vitex now you might have to start over and wait another 13 weeks. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with msvon. You may end up wasting a lot of time if you stop because it is a cumulative herb and if you stop your body will clean the vitex out and you will have to build it back up again. There are times with herbs that things will seem to get worse before they get better but just stick with it. Its going to take a while so we gotta be patient. Sheri
Yep,
DEFINITELY don't stop taking them! I've read that once a "real" period begins is when you should stop taking them - then go back on after the period. Spotting doesn't count as a "real" period, though.

Well, I think that 13 weeks is a LONG time to take herbs without anything really happening...I don't blame you for quitting, but it would be a shame if you had to start ALL over again!
I've been on them for about 20 days and I am already getting impatient! How long is TOO long to not get a period, and to keep waiting for these darn herbs to work!?!? I am also getting my 3rd acupuncture treatment Friday, and nothing is working!!! Am I being too impatient???

13 weeks is not long. Some herbs can take up to 6 months before you begin to notice any effect. Remember, your body didn't get the way it is overnight, and herbs won't fix it that quickly either.

I have to agree that quitting vitex may not be the answer. Of course you must do what you wish. This is just my experience. Until vitex I never had sore bbs either but then again I never had enough progesterone in my system to make them that way. With vitex my hormones have regulated enough to allow me to ovulate. Do you temp? Maybe your bbs are sore because you ovulated. I spotted for two days and then 14 days later I o'd. Just a thought. Hope whatever you choose works out for you.

The spotting is normal. Many of us, who take Vitex experienced it. Also myself. It was really grosse and I got really scared. But actually it is a sign that the body is starting to function. Please hang of fore little more!
