Default AF too long...what the heck?????

Okay, I'm on Ortho Novum. I started it before I got my first postpartum AF, and ended up getting it 4 days before I was to start the placebo pills. I finished off the pack, and in order to AVOID having a 2-week AF, I skipped the placebo and started the new pack instead. I've now been bleeding for 12 days and I've been through 3 boxes of tampons. I'm getting pretty pissed off, as you can probably imagine. Has anyone had this happen with their BCP? Does anyone know what I can do? Should I just stop the BCPs altogether?? I don't need them for BC (we use condoms...and he's getting snipped on the 23rd).

I'm at a loss. It's been 2 weeks since we've had sex and I'm getting really depressed about bleeding for so long. Today is the start of week 2 of my new pack, so AF should have stopped, but it's still going. Light, but still enough to be bright red on the tampon. *sigh*

I take BC to try and regulate my cycles as we don't need them either. I still get wonky periods that are too long/too heavy but that could by my age. LOL

Have you called your dr? (((HUG)))

My GYN quit. So it's probably my PCP I'd need to see...and I've never been to her. She helped deliver my youngest and is the pediatrician for my DD and DS#2, so I do know her.

The bleeding stopped on Saturday night, and I've been fine since. I think it may have just been my body trying to adjust to the BCP, as well has having my first postpartum period, along with not doing the placebo pills. Hopefully when I skip the placebos in 8 days, I won't get spotting again...
