If you are IR you can have some trouble from the alcohol. (messes with your sugars)But as far as I know it could only effect your blood presure(BCP main side effect) Not everyone gets HBP, but alcohol and smoking can make things much worse. The combo can also cause a stoke in rare cases.

I was started on Dianette and whenever I had a slight bit of alcohol I just fell asleep. I don't mean just sleepy, I'd literally fall asleep in the pub or wherever I was. So be careful at first to check you're ok with it, although I don't know of anyone else this has happened too. so it might be rare It turned out I was allergic to it anyway so I'm off it now
I know of no interactions between alcohol and the pill.
But I do know this: studies have shown that a small amount of alcohol (particularly red wine) actually helps with Insulin Resistance. A small amount (no more than one glass of wine for a woman) actually helps your body with insulin sensitization and reducing your blood sugar.
I lost more weight on the same diet/exercise program when drinking one glass of wine with dinner. Now, I'm on met and while the alcohol didn't bother me for a while, it does now.
