One of my first symptoms of PCOS was when I was in the 9th grade and one of the guys pointed out that I had a couple of peices of hair under my chin! It was embarassing as you can imagine! It didn't get any better hair started to grow on my uppper lip, chin sideburns, cheeks and upper neck, its very thick on my arms and I have a little on my chest. It makes it so hard to wear the cutest summer dresses and shirts. I started laser hair removal on my face and neck and it has helped a litle ( not as much as I would like) but I always worry about burning my skin as I know that is has not always been safe for women of color. Is there another method that is safer but effective?

No Cycles( unless forced by BCP)
Facial hair( well the hair is pretty much everywhere)
I was going to ask Kat to post about her guy but she already has. I am a big chicken and have yet to go.
Kat...I assume that it's best to get the androgen issue under control before laser removal or does it not matter.

If not 'before', at least 'at the same time' is probably best, but check with your doctor... If your androgens are high and contributing to hirsutism, you might need to be on an antiandrogen.

This has worked for me, but everyone is not a fan. On my little chest hairs, I use sally hansens cream bleach and that works. That way I dont have to worry about scars out anything. I usually only do it in the summer.
