Question After D&C when did AF come?

Hi ladies -

today marks 6 weeks from my D&C and still no AF, no spotting or anything. My dr told me it should take about 4 to 6 weeks to have AF. He told me if after 6 weeks no period to call, yet I know he will prescribe provera to bring on AF (and last couple of times I had to take it was really hard on me with cramps, backache etc).

So I was just wondering after your D&C did you get AF I'm I just being impatient and should wait it out? Dr told me I have to get this AF (induced or not) and next AF we can start clomid again - I'm ready to move forward.

TIA!

Mine came 5 weeks to the day after my D&C. My Dr told me that if I had not had it by 8 weeks to let him know.

I've never taken Provera, but it doesn't sound very fun. Sorry you have to go through this.

I induced AF with NPC about....4weeks after D&C. It was normal, lasted 7 days exactly...but it still felt funny, like my uterus wasn't quite ready yet...or just extra tender or something. Anyway, took a break and I started my second round of NPC today.

Sorry...NPC = Natural Progesterone Cream

I can't use Provera, it makes me sick, and the cramps with Provera are unbelievable! I can't take Metformin because of chest pains, and it made me rediculously sick. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and purchase a $10 jar of NPC to bring on my cycle..been doing fine with it every since.

NPC is Natural Progesterone Cream. You can get it at some pharmacies or health food stores. If you don't mind waiting a month this may be a great choice for you. Maybe someone else can explain how to use it. I haven't used it in a few years. All I remember is that you use it for part of the month (3 weeks?) and then let your period come the 4th week. I think that's right. It depends on the brand you buy as to how much you use.

I'm in the same boat you are...waiting for AF. I used Yasmin, BCP, after my D&C which was back on Sept 3. I should have had a period in week 4 but didn't. I waited a few more weeks and the doctor gave me Prometrium and 3 weeks later still no AF. I'm so frustrated because like you I'm impatient and ready to get on with TTC again. Now I have to use Estrogen for 3 weeks and then Progesterone for another week.

As for not liking Provera I hate it too and that's why I asked for Prometrium. Prometrium is supposed to be a more natural form of Provera and thus more gentle. I have bad cramps with Provera and get very crabby. Unfortunately the Prometrium didn't do the trick this time.

Goodluck!!!
