Question After m/c how long did it take to resume cycles

I just had my 2nd m/c & I am finished bleeding & now I'm waiting for my next "real" af so I can get on with things (my RE has ordered some b/w & an hsg to be done after my next af).

How long after the m/c bleeding did y'all get your next period? Anyone with a chemical pregnancy?

I think my af came about 30 days after the D&C with #2. I can't remember what happened with #1.

Hello Amy,
Thank you for your reply. I am on around day 40-ish (I have to check my calendar) so I'm still waiting.
It's VERY encouraging to me to see a cyster who had 2 m/c's & then went on to have a successful pg!!! It gives me hope Sometimes I feel like the fact I've had 2 m/c's means that my body just can't carry a baby to term. I'm glad your story proves otherwise. Thanks for sharing your story.
Any tips or advice on how you avoided a 3rd m/c, or did you do nothing different at all & it was just meant to be?
May I ask if you were on Metformin for any of your pg's?

Hi Bethany!
Yes there definitely is hope after m/c. I had my two m/c while taking clomid. My son is a clomid/met baby. I took met for about 3 weeks prior to conception and then up to the 16th week of pregnancy. The Doctor told me I could stop taking it at 12 weeks, but it took me an extra 4 weeks to get up the courage to actually stop it! Besides the met I did nothing different during my pregancy with ds. In fact I was pretty stressed out/busy.....I was petrified of miscarrying again. I also moved house and the town that we had lived in for 7 yrs and was a bridesmaid for my sister.
I am going to see the Doc in a couple of weeks to start ttc #2. I think we will go with the clomid/met combo again and I HOPE that it works. I'm a little anxious about it, but I'm just trying to focus on being positive at this stage.
Hope you have some success really soon.
Take Care

Amy

Hi Bethany,

I am sorry to hear of your losses. My first AF came at 9 weeks after my m/c. I was 7w4d.

Hope things get back to "normal" for you soon.

I think I am the exception - I had a D&C and Af did not show for 5 months after. It seems that it takes about a month and half for most to resume having AF. I hope she shows soon for you.

After both my mc's...I seem to go out of whack and just didn't get AF. I had to induce. After the first one, which I'm guessing was chemical because it happened so early, I only had to induce that one time and then it went back to normal. After the second time, I induced, took clomid and got pg on the first try amazingly.

So you see, there is more than one of us who had 2 mc's and then went on to have a successful pg. I'm 19 weeks and just had a level II US and everything is perfect.
Hoping for the same for you!
