Question After your loss.....?

After your loss how long before you got your period? And were your periods the same as before you got pregnant? Example: did you go back to PCOS symptoms, were your periods the same in length?

Thanks for the info.

Laura

After my loss in January, I didn't get af naturally. I had to induce one using provera sometime around April/May. I have had 2 more af's since then (June & August) both induced by provera/prometrium. No natural af's though.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I went right back to regular -- AF returned about five weeks after the D&C, which makes sense --- take a week to have the hormones return to zero, and then 28 days later. Although mine returned at exactly the same time it would have been had I not been pregnant -- if I had just been having AF instead of being pregnant, it was right on schedule, as if my body knows exactly when it's supposed to happen.

I'm guessing that they would have been going on for normal after that, because I conceived in the next cycle using only the calendar as a guide to determine when the right day was to try. Apparently I ovulated right on schedule, as I'm 14 weeks along now.

I have no idea where you are on the idea of trying again, but I had done some reading that your body is more receptive in the first two cycles after a m/c to try again, and you have a better chance for a good outcome. It's as if your body recalls being pregnant and is willing to try again. So far, it seemed to work for me. I'm still completely paranoid though -- my m/c was a missed miscarriage, so I didn't know for three weeks after development stopped that anything was wrong, and even then it was an ultrasound that picked it up. Since I'm three weeks from the last time I had an ultrasound, of course I'm kind of nuts again until my next appointment on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I'm going to believe this is for real until I'm in the delivery room, if I make it that far.
