Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share this article with you. It gives hope that Spiro can help regrow hair and reverse miniaturization. The pictures are encouraging. http://www.dermatologytimes.com/derm...l.jsp?id=45681
I think the study and pictures are encouraging. My hair loss is significant...I would be thrilled with the kind of results these women had.
I started on metformin 6 months ago and spironolactone 1 month ago. Has anyone ever experienced a little more hair loss when you first went on spiro? My hair loss has increased this past month, nothing horrifying, but I sure hope it does not continue. I have diffuse thinning all over the top of my head. I can't afford to lose more.
Jane,
I started Spiro on May 10th(100mgs) and bumped up to 200 two weeks later. I did experience an increase in shed the first month, but it has tapered down a bit. My hairloss is also significant. I would say that I've lost approx 60% of my hair. It has been devastating.
I appreciate the article you posted because I need some hope...and I think it is important to be realistic about results as well as a time frame.
I understand the devastation of hairloss. There are some days that I dread leaving the house...I keep reminding myself that I am more than my hair, but it is so hard and sometimes overwhelmingly depressing.
