I never really thought of myself as young untill our homestudy when we were told I was one of the youngest women that our worker has dealt with.
So I am wondering what is the average age of people that adopt.
Thanks
You have to be 30 to adopt from China...I was actually 36 when we adopted Emily and I'm 38 while we are adopting Katie.
I would have loved to have started this process when I was your age too but it wasn't in the cards for us then..besides, I'm just a youngster anyway! HAHAHAHAHA

I'm 30 but "young" considering that we're adopting from China and 30 is the youngest you can be... We actually had to wait until I turned 30 to start!

I was 34 and DH 38 when we started the process, we are now 36 and 40 and in the process of adopting our first son. We hope to adopt another boy and possibly a girl in the next couple of years.
We are learning alot about toys and the language now with Billy in the house. We learn something new from him everyday and we are starting to feel younger.

Well, every agency I've read about makes you be 25 before you can adopt. The combination of that and the fact you have to be married 2 years, are the primary reasons we'll be TTC before adopting.

I'm the grandma of the group at age 39 LOL We're just working on our first adoption. I know some countries have age issues but our agency that's in CA never said anything about being too young or old???
Best wishes to you on your journey!!

Randy was 29, I was 33 when we started the process, we finalized in May 2005, I am 35 as of July and randy is 31 as of september. Our sons are 6- TODAY!!!, soon to be 11, and 13. We were looking into international adoption when Randy was 27 and we were told he was too young for the majority of the programs. We are hoping to adopt a girl in a year or so.
