Adoption is an option that I'd like to pursue. However, it looks like many countries and agencies have an age limit. I am only 28 but DH has just turned 56. He is in great health, though...or else we wouldn't be trying for a baby. Is there any hope that adoption may be an option for us?

In practice, many countries only enforce the age limit for women. I've heard that Russia for instance does not really care how old the man is, so long as he is in good health. Also, some countries use a combined age limit -- your youth may balance out your husband's age. Your average age is 42, so that should be acceptable.
