Exclamation AGHHH!!!!! more mood swings!!!!

So i'm impossably (spelling) moody. It's been 20 months since the birth of my son and i'm still hitting highs and lows. On birth control i was not just moody i was depressed, serverly. Crying several times a week and really hateful. Came off the birth control about 6 months ago and the depression is gone, but i still a witch!@!!! Or at least some of the time. My husband will ask me where i've left my broom, and by that time i'm growling. GRRRRR..... Of course i do have a great husband, he goes to my dr appts and is very supportive. After 7 years with me he knows i'm moody, i was moody when he met me, but since the birth of our son, i'm at extremes. I'm no longer depressed and antisocial but now i'm ticked off or on top of the world and there is no middle ground!!!! I feel my moods change and cant seem to change it. I've not seen an ER yet (appt the 21) and am still looking for a dr for the diabetes that came a week after the pcos diagnosed, because my obgyn wanted to check due to family history and the pcos. So my question is the moods normal and is there anything i can do about it? I've read that treatment for someone not wanting to get pregnant right away can sometimes be birth control, but i want no more birth control.

My husband and i decided to let nature happpen and God do his work. We have the one child and he took four years of trying, 1 miscarriage, and about a 1 1/2 years on clomid, metformin and prometrium. Then the birth and almost 20 months later then the diagnosed of pcos after trying to figure out what was going on with my hormones!!!! Is birth control my only option or are their other treatments for the mood swings???

a new baby is hard but it is a blessing so congrads on that hun. i have bipolar and know first hand how hard it is to control mood swings, especially with hormone issues. you should look into getting a therapist. with the right person you can probably get to the root of your problem and deal with it without medication. or maybe a low dose of mood stabilizer is the right thing for you. is your husband the only one you snap at? or do u get angry with friends and family as well? i really think you should look into a therapist hun. you want to get a handle on all this before if affects your son and marriage. i wish you the best of luck. i am here if you ever want to talk. i know the swings all too well because i am currently off meds. message me if you want to talk more.

Some nutritional support for depression(no substitute for meds if it is really bad, but a big help).... flax oil(i take 1200 mg a day), magnesium before bed(500 mg/day) and b complex during the day. The magnesium is a natural muscle relaxer and may make u sleepy. B complex will give energy. The flax oil is also good for your cholesterol and helps skin/hair/nails be healthier.

Hope you get to feeling better. Consider the pp's idea of a counselor. A good one will make all the difference in the world!
