Question Airplane food ideas needed

Ladies,

DH and I are heading to Seattle for a long-awaited vacation. It's a fairly long flight for us (we're in upstate New York) and I always like to bring food with me because those airplane meals never seem to fill me up (what a surprise, right?).

I would really appreciate any suggestions that you may have for easy, packable snacks.

BTW-I am on Glucophage and will need to avoid carbs. Don't want to spend the whole flight in the bathroom!

Thanks!

i am pretty sure cheese strings will be okay...

the best thing to do is to freeze a bottle of water and wrap it in tin foil and then a plastic bag. you can use this as an ice pack... and then you will have a nice cold water to drink as well... just make sure it is wrapped so it does not "sweat".
then you can bring some yogurts. or anything else that needs to be kept cold!!!

I agree with Dis. You can take just about anything if you have some type of bag with something frozen in it. I often freeze water in a bottle, or in a zip lock baggie (the good kind, lol). You can take yogurt, cheese, celery with peanut butter, veggies with dip, and whatever else you like to snack on! Also, maybe a can of mixed nuts or a package of sunflower seeds or pistachios? Those wouldn't need to be kept cold. You could probably get away with keeping celery and peanut butter in your bag, even if you don't keep it cold. Worst comes to worst, you could just eat a big meal before the flight!

Good luck and have a fun and safe trip!!

Smile Great Idea!

Disneygirl and Laura,

The frozen water bottle is a great idea! I had thought about taking ice packs, but I didn't want to have to deal with them after the flight was over. A frozen water bottle will be a perfect substitute!

Thank you so much! You've solved my problem.
