I hope this is the right forum to ask this question, but has anybody had any side effects to Alpha Lipoic Acid? I started taking 500 mg per day about 10 days ago and tonight I broke out in what I think is hives. This is horrible! I also started taking chromium about the same time but I don't see hives or skin rashes listed as a possible side effect. ALA list skin rashes as a rare disorder.

I have tried to think of anything else that I might have an allergic reaction to, but there isn't anything. I did read that one thing that might cause hives is stress and I have had a tremendous amount of that. I actually got some bad news (yet again!) from home, so I just don't know.

Has anybody else had this problem?
