I've posted somewhere else about this before a while back briefly, but... is anyone else terribly intolerant to alcohol? I mean, I get deathly ill when I drink. A few months ago I had three drinks in one evening (pretty stiff drinks, but still, they were spread out!) and I vomited non-stop for 14 hours straight. By the end I was bawling my eyes out from exhaustion, my stomach muscles felt like they were going to tear, and my throat was raw. Oh, I should also mention I completely blacked out for probably 6 hours and had to be babysat so that I didn't drown in my own vomit.
I would say I've been getting sick for over a year now. Even a beer makes me queasy.
Man, some days I wish I could have a drink...

That's how I am. I rarely drink now. With one drink the room is spinning and I feel so drunk, and then I'm puking for 3 days. It was really bad when I was in high school so I would drink anyway...then after 2 and a half drinks I was crazy drunk, then I'd feel really strange so I was up all night, and then I was puking for a week. Then I'd stop puking just in time for the weekend to drink again. Stupid kids...
Anyway, yeah, I have this problem. Right now what I ususally do is have half a shot (I'm in college, I hafta drink sometimes) and that makes me pretty good for a while...

Glad to hear it isn't just me. I recently had 3 White Russians (my favorite) over a 4 1/2 hr. period and I was very drunk. I've never been like that before. I couldn't even lay down in bed b/c the room wouldn't stop spinning. I've always been able to drink them before taking the met. but I think now I'll stop at one.

I get really flushed after one drink and very hot. Sometimes I feel really anxious. I don't get that cool buzzed feeling that I used to get in college. I don't drink anymore.

I'm also a fellow "light weight" One beer makes me a little tipsy/dizzy, 2 beers I am pretty woozy, 3 beers and I'm drunk...anymore than that and I am puking!
CArrie, totally OT, but you got married four days after I did!!
And are you on Met? That makes your reaction to alcohol a lot faster and much more severe. Since I started met, I can only tolerate like, one drink at most, with a meal.
Anything more than 1 wine cooler & I feel awful. I've decided alcohol is not for me. I guess it's one bad habit I won't have to worry about picking up.
I have a doctor's appointment with a new ob/gyn Thursday (who has PCOS!) and I'm going to ask if she recommends I try it to ward off some of my craptastic symptoms though.

I don't really drink because it just makes me tired. What's the point in that, I'm tired anyway!!!

Alcohol is one of the purest forms of sugar and one of the hardest sugars your body can process.
I know people who turn bright red when they drink. Others develope diriea. Some have bad stomach cramping or nausia.
There is a tavern I won't go to anymore because the last 4 times we had dinner and beer, I woke in the middle of the night puking. Sad indeed.
