This may be a silly quesion but.. Can you drink ANY alcohol while on Met? When I got my prescription (about 3 w. ago) my pharamacist said NO... But I'm going to my cousins wedding tonight and would really love one drink. I normally take Met between dinner and bedtime, 1500mg. So if I eat first at the wedding, then have my one Midori Sour and then eat something afterwards.. that should be okay right?

I asked this question once here and this is what I decided to do. I skipped the dose for that night (or day) and drank away. I tried to drink rum and diet coke because it has no carbs or sugar. Try to stick to sugar free. I did fine while drinking and I drank a lot but didnt get sick or anything.

BTW-one drink will not do anything. You could stay on your medicine but if you plan to drink much more, skip the dose.

I drink occasionally on met, no ill effects here!

while I was on holidays I had 5 drinks and felt fine.

I drink on Met (a few glasses of wine every few days) and the only thing I do is make sure I take the pills (w/food) at least 2 hours before drinking. I've never had any problems.

I have drank here and there on Met, but not too often. I have had no problems.

I drink while on met. I have gone out one night and got all tore up and had no ill side effects.

I've drank a few times on Met as well. I tend to skip my dosage for the night if I know i'm going to be drinking. I also find that my body absorbs the alcohol way faster! I feel drunk after one. I'm sure its a side effect of the met as well.

HMMMMM... I don't see any harm in the one drink, if you skip the dose, but to go get drunk? Or drink every few days? I don't know if that's such a good idea when you're on this or any other medication. Especially if you're trying to get pregnant. Just my opinion.
