Talking YES!!

Yes! Aldactone definitely works to make facial hair lighter and finer. Unfortunatly, it does not eliminate facial hair, as much as we would all LOVE it to. But it does help make to make the hair less noticable, and it prevents you from having any increase in the amount you have.

I started taking 100 mgs of spironolactone (generic aldactone) in November. I've just recently upped it to 150 mg. I will start taking 200 mgs in about another month.

So far, I've had no noticeable improvment with facial hair or hair loss.

Maybe aldactone is better than spironolactone.

Heather,

In Dr. Redmond's book, he states that the brand name Aldactone is more easily absorbed and of better quality than the generic spironolactone and only recommends the brand name.

I'm doing good on spiro. My androgen levels have dropped to normal in the last 3 months. My facial hair is getting a lot lighter too. Less chin shaving going on here.

My cheeks were covered in peach fuzz. My chin has maybe 20 thick black hairs on it that have to be shaved. My belly is covered with light hair all the way up to my breasts.

Don't know. I take 50mg twice a day. It has helped tremendously though. That's all that matters to me.

I've read that doses less than 100 mg daily are usually ineffective unless being taken as a maintenance dose.
