Default Aldactone...Losing weight?

Has anyone noticed they have lost weight using it? I know it is a diruetic. My OB-GYN was going to put me on it plus Glucophage, but decided to just do the Glucophage and see if that helps with the hair. I did notice I had a little bit of trouble with excessive hair then he put me on Yasmin, when I had to get off of that because of leg cramps and possible blood clots, my hair got more excessive. Grrrrr... He said it was bound to happen sooner or later. I would of rather it of been later.

Hi, I have lost weight since taking aldactone.
Aldactone is the brand name for spirolactone.
If you can afford aldactone instead of spirolactone I
would suggest highly that you change.
I started taking spiro first for about a month and had stomach
probems and I read a book about womens hormones and
problems like PCOS and the author who is a doctor recommended
using the brand name aldactone instead of spiro so I changed
and I have had success with the excess hair and I have lost about 10 pounds. I wasn't overweight before at 138 I am now down to 128 and feel great. It may be that I drink a lot of
water so that I don't get dehydrated and I watch my potassium intake I cut out all fruits.

Good Luck!

Aldactone has worked brilliantly against the excess facial and body hair, but didn't do a thing to help me lose weight (and I've been on it for 13 years)
