Post Aldactone Report... Two Months of Not Taking It

Hi, everyone! I hope I am posting this in the right place. It might actually help people in the trying to conceive forum as well!

I have been reporting on what it has been like for me without Aldactone in the hopes of helping other Cysters to ease their fears if they want to stop or need to stop taking this drug. I have stopped to prepare my self for TTC, but there are several reasons why someone may decide to stop taking it!

Well, it has been a little over two months, since I stopped taking Aldactone this summer on July 1st so that I could purge my body of it for three months before ttc. When I reported last month, there were no noticeable changes in my body after only one month of not taking it. Unfortunately, this month, I have noticed accelerated hair growth in my legs which I am now shaving everyday other than every other day. I know that stinks, but I am willing to put up with it to have a baby. Other than that, no changes... weight is the same, still no acne (yea!), etc.

I will report back around early October... yea! My first ttc month.

Anyway, hope this will help. I know everyone's body is different, but I really freaked out about getting off of Aldactone because I have high testosterone. I was worried about weight gain the most, and although I have not lost any weight, I am relieved I have NOT gained since stopping Aldactone. The hair thing is rough to deal with, but I will have to do just that... DEAL!

Have a great day everyone.

Jennifer

Thanks for your post. It will be good to monitor how you are going with coming off.
Can I ask whether you found being on aldactone/spiro worked for you? Like I said, it will be interesting see from what you reply with to how things progress for you without it.
Wish you the best with conceiving as soon as possible!!!

Post Hi, Barbie72!

Yes, Aldactone (Spiro) really worked for me. I was on it for over a year, and my skin cleared up, the hair on my head stopped coming out, and I really noticed the hair on my face, arms, and legs began to grow very slowly! I went from plucking hairs on my chin and upper lip everyday to plucking just once a week. Also, I went from shaving my legs everyday to shaving every other day! I will keep you all posted.

Take Care,
Jennifer
