Someone in my family just got the results to her thyroid test. It was 4.002. If I'm not wrong that's high...correct? They are getting ready to start her on Synthroid. I'm trying to find some info for her because this is all new for her.
She is currently on Aldactone for hairloss. I know that Synthroid can cause hairloss. She's wondering if this will effect her Aldactone from working.
Any info would be great!!!!

Actually her thyroid level (she is hypo) could have something to do with her hair loss. The synthyroid does not have anything to do with hair loss. It is replacing thyroid that she needs for her body to function. Once her body regulates, she might stop losing hair.

It could be related, but the only way to know is to get her thyroid levels back to normal. See the sticky about thyroid sites at the top of this topic for some helpful info.

Aldactone and Synthroid?
