Couple of excellent points from the the assembly today -

1 - In regards to the women with the flow of blood - that she could of lied and said it wasn't her that touch Jesus. But she had the courage to admit it was, that she needed help, even though she had to break some rules to get it. Relates not only to us but to our children when they come to us for help. We want them to feel comfortable to come to us with anything.

2- Stress the importance of remaining extremely close to the faithful and discreet slave class, looking to them for direction, not to question their authority from Jehovah.

Well we are off to bed ... get some rest for our second day.

And then I'll probably miss it, I'm going to start the Raspberry leaf tea & jumping up and down & "other" activities from about week 37 onwards.... I know bubs will come when she's ready but hopefully I can encourage her to be ready a little earlier.... ?

If you think nothing of letting your friends stop by to use the bathroom.

If you know the cleanliness of every coffee shop for miles around.

If you think 2-door vehicles aren't really cars.

If you go to Home Depot and go down the aisle where doors are displayed and you feel compelled to knock on them.

If you can't buy a pair of shoes without thinking about how comfortable they will need to be while walking residential streets in 95-degree heat.

If you have a tendency to refer to books by color instead of by title.

If you have a shelf just for 192-page books.

If you can't pick up a book, or anything else to read, without picking up a pencil or highlighter too.

If you think it is complimentary to refer to someone as "a study".

If you have "get-togethers" rather than "parties".

If, after one of such "get-togethers" at your home, your house is not a mess and you have more food than when you started.

If you realize things are getting worse, and you're thrilled.

MALACHI 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver..."

This verse puzzled some during a book study, and they wondered what this
statement meant about the character and nature of Jehovah. One sister
offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the
group at the next book study.

That week, the sister called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch
him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest,
beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and
let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the
silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest so as to burn
away all of the impurities.

The sister thought about Jehovah holding us in such a 'hot spot,' and
then she thought again about the verse that says 'He sits as a refiner
and purifier of silver.'

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front
of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. He answered yes, he
not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on
the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a
moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The sister was silent for a moment, then she asked the silversmith, How do
you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled and said "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If, today, you are feeling the 'heat of the fire' of Satan's
persecution...remember that Jehovah has his eye constantly on you, and will
keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Right now, this very moment, some dear brother or sister needs to know that
Jehovah himself is watching over them. And, whatever they're going through,
He will be vindicated, if they remain faithful.

Another excellent day at the DC, there was a release at the last talk of the second day. DD #1 has not had any accidents as of yet, woo hoo!!!! We are so proud of her! We might just beed to stop by the toy store on the way home tomorrow to celebrate!!!

We went swimming at the hotel tonight, pool was heated so that was nice. Check out at the hotel is at noon, so I've packed everything but what we are wearing for tomorrow so we can load up and head out in the morning.

Points made-

1- Loyalty to Jehovah in regards to decisions on disfellowshipping (associating with them would further grieve the holy spirit).

2- '99' Sheep - '1' Sheep Lost - Shepherd would be willing to leave the other sheep temp. as they would flock together and protect themselves. The shepherd would then go to find the lost one as each and every sheep are precious in his eyes. The '1' sheep would see the shepherd coming and would or should coming running back into his trusting arms.

oooo that sounds like a really good DC Marcie (not that they ever aren't). I know how hard it can be NOT associating with someone disfellowshipped, I saw the struggle with DH's family.

I'm so glad we will be going over this at the DC. Both of my siblings are no longer in the truth. It's just nice to go over this topic once in a while to get a refresher course on all of it again. It's so hard to deal with siblings that puch themselves on you when they know good and well how JW's feel about it.

I'm doing alright Caroline. Thanks for asking. I was wondering how long you had side effects from the Clomid after you stopped taking it? I'm about 2 weeks out from taking it now. I just had a terrible hot flash and was very ill for a moment. I'm feeling better now. I know it has nothing to do with pregnancy since it's to soon, so I was thinking maybe it's left overs from the side effects of the Clomid. Any thoughts? How have you been feeling?

Marcie - I would love to take a swim right about now. It was actually kind of cook out today so DH thought it would be a great idea to turn off the AC's. I've been swiming in my own pool of sweat all day (sorry tmi).

Chloe - How are things going with you?

Steph, I honestly can't remember any side effects at all, but then at the moment I can't remember my own name!! It sounds hormonal anyway so could be related if I remember correctly ( :haha) you should be o'ing soon so perhaps it's related to that I think it was around day 21 for me??!! Evening Primrose Oil is supposed to help even out any hormonal fluctuations so maybe you could try that?
As for me, I am kaput!! I've increased my protein and have noticed a definite improvement in energy levels but I think I'm fighting off DD's cold so I can't really win at the moment. I'm getting LOTS of movement so I know bubs is healthy, I have another m/w appt on Thurs and Tyla has her first Dental Nurse visit... she is so excited!! It's really cute.
Hope all are well, I'm off to clean the car.... stupid nesting instincts....

Seems just like yesterday you were telling us you were pregnant. I'm sure it has not gone as fast for you though!

Marcie - Have fun with your company! His next visit over will probably be for his wedding

At least that's how it went with me and my DH.

I was thinking it might be nice to tell how we met our DH's. Mine is a VERY LONG story

Ok the Foot X Rays show Mild Osteoarthritis/Arthritis in addition to the nerve problems. Not to sure what the dr is going to suggest, my research does not show very promising. No cure and it use develops into the hands, but they said it very unusal for my age. Well everything happens to me so ...

Hi all!! I am new to the site, and stumbled upon this thread. I'm 27, and live in Northern Ca. My oldest brother is an elder in another cong, and my other brother is a ministerial servant in my hall. Other than them and their families, and my mom, no one else in the family are JW's. There is another sister who used to be in the same hall with PCOS but we weren't close, and now she's married and switched to another hall anyways.

I hope I get to know all of you better. It sounds like a great DC, but then has there ever been one that wasn't just what we needed? Mine isn't until July.
