Hello-I have a prayer request. My father in law-Jerry lives in Spokane Washington. He is 66 yrs old. He found out he has cancer and found out in August. He has had it longer and don't know what help to give him. He and mom (gloria) had to move and live with her daughter. As of today 9/8 we got a call from brother in law..and he asked if we could come up any chance we get to see dad before he forgets who we are. So I am sure dh will go this week and I will go in a few weeks. He is so bad off that he sleeps all day..and can handle only 15 min. visits from family. So I would ask that you pray for his wife...my brother in law don...sister in law dixie..and my hubby lee as well as me...on how to handle this situation...and is time left with us. Thanks
Oh Cathy, I'm so sorry your family is going through all this, it's just terrible. Please know I am praying for you and your whole family. May you all feel God's loving embrace and may He bring you comfort and peace.

Hey Ladies-Thanks for your prayers so far. I did not know what to expect. I sent dh today to visit his dad...yesterday they had to take him to the hospital. So he gets up there to visit and dad is on radation treatment. Talked to him on the phone and he says he will go home tomorrow. So we will go from here...thanks..keep praying...they need it.

Hello Ladies-Here is a update on my father in law Jerry. We got a call from him today...he was thinking that everyone was against him, being paranoid, needed my dh to be with him. A few minutes later..he was on the phone again...able to talk and be himself. I think it is the morphine...making him do this. But just pray for those around him...cause they don't know what to do when he is not himself. Dh will go next weekend w/o me again..due to the fact that I would not be able to handle him going in and out like that...and I don't want to be stressed out. THanks
Hi Gals-Sent dh back to visit his dad. He is back in the hospital and they took him off of all medications except for the 120 mg of morphine. And it was recommended to the family that he goes in a home. Before dh left to go up there we were talking about the very subject that he needs to go in a home. So keep praying. Thanks
Here is a update-The doctors have fil on 1000 mg of morphine a day and he is in some pain. IT was also suggested that he is put in a home. If he is given anymore morphine he could slip into a coma. Pray for the family and us...we will make a trip together next weekend. They also gave a time limit: 1 week or longer...who knows
Here is a update for all those who are praying. I took the rest of the week off to come and visit...which I was feeling bad that I have not come up yet...given what dh said when he came home from his visit. Went to visit today in his home that he is in...he is doing ok....just needs visitors. The docs have given 12 meds back to him which we all feel he really does not need...due to he could be paranoid again and scare everyone in the home. So tomorrow dh and mil will take fil to the doc and see about all the meds. He was fine just on the morphine alone. It was nice to see him...I think he will make it..now that he is out of the hospital. Thanks again. I will keep you posted...I am planning to stay for a few days...we are going to put pictures together in case we ever need them ready for his funeral.

Here is another update-Fil is in a group home with 3 other people. He has has own room...and this one lady who stays there used to work in old folks' home is driving him crazy cause she won't quit bugging him. LOL...she is bothersome but she can't help it...she likes to help. We told him our good-byes this afternoon and I know this is the best place for him to be. Anyways, the couple who own the home are watching him and making sure he is fine. He has a physical therapist and a few other people check in on him during the week. So, now i feel at ease and will be able to check in on him later. The doctors are giving him a week maybe a month longer to make it...it all depends on what the lord will give him. THanks
