Kimmy-We are staying in the same town. We have been building our own house not too far from where we live not. It is a very small town.

Hello ladies! Is there any news out there? How is everyone? We are officially in our house! Praise the Lord! I have even been looking at beds for the nursery! I found a cradle I LOVE, but only if my mother buys it for me. It is a little expencive for me!!! Well I hope everyone is doing well.

Erin-- Congrats on moving into your house!

Did your mom decide to help you with buying the cradle??? We're now starting to think about a nursery, too. Luckily we have two rooms for our kiddies-- so the room that was originally going to be a playroom for our adopted child is now going to be a nursery. We still have had no news from the adoption agency. We do however know that there is a 95% chance that I am pregnant with a boy! Even though it's very early, let's just say that my son was not shy on the last ultrasound. So of course, now we want to specify with the agency that we want a girl. I've always had a feeling that they were going to work on placing a boy with us, but it is my dream to have at least one girl and two kids is definitely our limit. So anyway, we're just waiting to see how everything is going to play out. We still have not said anything to the adoption agency about my pregnancy and don't plan to until I´m much further along...

Bumping this thread up! The bummer about these adoption threads is that they are a bit slow-moving because of frequent gaps between action and inaction in the adoption process!

Still, hoping to hear from some of you ladies about what is going on! And even if nothing is going on... what are you up to?!?!?

Kimmy-It is wonderful that you are having a boy! How were you able to find out so early? I forgot to say that I really think that my mother is going to buy the cradle for me! Have you told the agency you want a girl?
We are still trying to get settled into our new house. Still lots of things to do. My brother told use a month ago that his wife is pg. We are very close to them and it hurts very badly that it is her and not me. They were not even trying, she was on bc. I am trying not to show it upsets me, but inside I am dying. If only we would hear something soon it might help. Well, that is what is going on with me. Who is next???!

So you are actively adopting and pregnant as well? Does the agency have any rules on this? I know with some that we talked to they would not even pursue any situations for you b/c you were pregnant and it wasn't fair to other couples...and some BM's want their baby to be the only baby...may not make lots of sense...but 2 babies (if you are matched and it's successful)...craziness.

Erin--Believe it or not, at 13 weeks, the doctor could tell it was a boy! I guess he's not a shy one!

His sex was VERY confirmed at the 15 week ultrasound. I know it´s soon, but for some reason, he´s not camera shy.
I totally understand how hard it is for you to deal with your SIL being pregnant. Trust me, after five years of infertility and at almost 40 years old, it was painful to me to hear about everyone else`s pregnancies. In fact, I was really touched when my mother broke the news of my SIL's third pregnancy to me (about a year ago)--she started crying before she told me because she felt so bad for me! I felt incredibly touched that she could understand my pain. I hope everyone on this thread understands that this pregnancy was a total and unexpected miracle and I feel a bit uncomforatble posting about it here because I don´t want to make people remember their frustrations with infertility. Erin, I understand your agony so well... I´m just praying that very soon you get news from the agency so that you can get all excited about your baby! You ARE waiting for a precious baby and it just isn´t showing yet

We still haven't told the agency but I wanted to wait until 20 weeks-- just because of my age the high risk nature of this pregnancy. So if everything goes well after the next u/s, we will tell them and insist that we want a girl!

Calches-- We're not waiting to adopt a baby. We´re adopting a child between 2 - 5 years of age. So we hoping that the agency will still keep us on their list when a child of that age becomes available. Since I´m 40 and have all sorts of high risk issues, this baby will be our only one--so we are very hopeful to adopt his older sister--hopefully within a year or two after he is born. But we´ll have to see what the agency says! I would never consider adopting a baby with so many couples waiting...

UGH! It´s UNBEARABLE the wait.

Someone on this board has to have some positive adoption news soon... Sending out baby vibes to the universe for adoption progress to all the women here ASAP!!!

Hey erin, i am sorry it has taken me this long to write back. I know you left me a message on my profile page, we were on vacation so I thought I would wait until I got back home. I am doing ok, so much has happened and not happened that life is just not where I wanted to be right now but i guess I really have no control over the things that have happened. We never did get to adopt the baby I told you about. The BM changed her mind. since then, I lost my job due to budget cuts in june and have not been able to get another one. This has put a hold on the house and the baby situation.

How about you? how are you doing? Have you heard anything from the adoption agency? Have you thought about signing with another agency? I hope all is well, write me back when you can.

Erin-- This is all such a HUGE shock!!! I honestly didn't want to post here because I know that some cysters might feel resentful because I´m pregnant and I understand how painful and frustrating it is after years of infertility. Basically, we still hadn't informed the agency that I was pregnant and they called us last week to tell us that they had matched us with a woman who is scheduled to give birth in late September. We were in TOTAL shock because as you know, we had been approved to adopt an older child between 2 - 5 years of age! We had not even considered the possibility of adopting a baby. I immediately informed them via phone that I was six months pregnant and apologized for not contacting them earlier because we wanted to wait until our baby was completely viable. They were very understanding. Of course, we also expressed an interest in finding out more about the placement. They agreed to set up a meeting with us which took place yesterday and we went in expecting that they were going to rescind the placement because we are pregnant. They completely surprised us by taking a different approach--saying that they had carefully considered us and felt we had the energy, enthusiasm and resources to handle two babies. They told us there was no pressure... that if we felt it was too much to handle, we could hold off and adopt another child further down the road. Both DH and I had been talking about it for days and we had decided that we are ready for the challenge and that in fact, for many reasons, it would be ideal for us now that we are expecting Phillip to raise our children all at once, just like twins. DH is going to be a full-time, stay-at-home dad and since I work from home, we feel we can manage it. Then they told us that the baby is a girl and we both immediately started crying. We already had her name picked out of course! So yes, we are going through and adopting her as a newborn. For us it is doubly miraculous because we had a miscarriage in Feb and my due date was the 25th of September--exactly when she is due. I'm still just amazed by how everything has happened.

Anyway, I hope this starts a WAVE of ADOPTION VIBES so that everyone´s babies and children starting coming to them soon!!!!
