Default for all of us taking flutamide w/ metformin

Lets all start a thread for those of us who are taking Flutamide (Eulexin) and Metformin together. I know several of us are in the care of Dr. Howard here in Texas, but anyone taking flutamide or who wants to know about it should post here too.

-What dose are you taking of both the Met and Flutamide?
-How long have you been on it?
-Have you noticed any side effects?
-Have you noticed any "good" changes?
-What other lifstyle changes have you made since starting treatment
-Anything else you would like to add

I am new here and I am a little discouraged because for the past week since I started the medications I have been sick every day, all day. I don't want to eat because I can't keep anything down and I am feeling a bit weak now. Does this go away???

I never actually threw up but I felt ill for 2 or 3 wks when I first started taking flutamide.

I've heard lots of women say that metformin can be hard to get used to and my dr said that i could gradually up the dose on it to help my stomach. you might try starting out w/ only one flutamide and one metformin and see if that helps. Do that for a week then add one pill of one or both of the meds. Do that until you get to your dosage.

I did that for a while. It will get better in my experience. I hope you feel better soon. I know its a crappy way of looking at it but really....think about it like I did if you aren't eatting a lot because you feel sick that's less fat getting on your body. However I'm on antidepressants for another issue so maybe that helps me look at things a little differently than if I wasn't.

Hang in there you will see great results soon. Take care.
Ashley

PS if your face or hair is typically oily that will be the first place you will notice the difference. I worked out for the first two weeks taking everything and it wasn't until the end of the two weeks that I could notice a physical change. look for small things to keep you encouraged.

Well, for me, i was very sick when i took 2 125 mg pills (so thats 250 mg) When I took two at once that first time, my body freaked out. I had hot flashes, sweating, very fatigued, like i had the flu. It totally freaked me out, and i quit taking it for about a week. then i took two for about two weeks, and i will continue taking only 2 unless i decide taking more will help my body. (my doc prescribed 4 125mg per day...).ANYWAYS, so far my skin is perfect (not oily at all), i would say it looks and feels like "normal skin" now. I tried everything before, even accutane in high school, and nothing worked. now, about 2 months into the flutamide, my skin is perfectly clear! I can go out in public w/o makeup now, and i haven't done that in close to 10 years! And my "happy trail" and the whiskers on my chin are gone, its blonde now, not black. My bust decreased by a full cup size (from DD to D).i am really starting to feel more like my old self.
