Does anyone else have this or know better what it is? My doc told me to research it before my follow-up appt after my Ovarian Drilling. Now I'm worried

My mom had Allen-Masters syndrome it is pelvic pain resulting from an old laceration of the broad ligament. Go to this website.

Will it further doom my already crappy fertility? He found what he believes to be endometriosis but said there really wasn't anything he could have removed. | |

yes surgery was friday.... got a secondary dx of possible endometriosis

and a whole host of other nasty things, like the allen masters because he saw what he believed to be "tunnels". Recovery is coming along although I did too much yesterday and am now on bed rest because my left ovary is bruised
I just feel HOPELESS now! I thought the surgery would be uplifting but its just the opposite

Lauryn~ It's not hopeless hun. Miracles happen everyday! Try and stay positive! I know it's hard right now. When I had my lap done I was so optimistic that they would be able to clear both my tubes and when I woke up and was told I only have one clear tube I was devestated! We are dealing with endo, male factor, and pcos! I thought it was hopeless and my RE was talking IVF which scared me. I've talked to women who have conceived with just one tube and know that having a low sperm count doesn't mean we can't get pregnant either. Now all I need is to get my ovaries to ovulate!! I'm taking my first cycle of clomid and am still feeling very hopeful that we'll get a bfp. If not this time, sometime! Chin up hun. The best thing to do is get as much information as possible. Information is power!! Then when you see your dr for your follow-up you will be armed with lots of questions and you can find out all your options. Take care!! ((hugs))

from what I've read thus far, it doesn't seem like Allen Masters Syndrome AFFECTS fertility as much as it is just common in people who already are afflicted with it. Does that sound about accurate? Or is it actually making matters worse on the fertility front?? | |

Lauren-
I don't know anything about this syndrome but I found this blog really intersting. Someone posted a link to it the other day and some of his info about endo made me feel much better. Plus, if your dr said their wasn't much to remove (or any to remove) then maybe it's more like the kind of thing they'd find in any woman. (just trying to offer some positive!)

Hi my name is Teresa I am 24 and I have a problem. I have had pain for a long time down there and it is only during intercourse. Well we are all adults here so it happens around the end of having sex it is so painful and it is getting worse my Docs cant fig. out what it is and I just really want a answer so I am online looking for myself! My husband is in the USMC so it is hard because I see so many different docs. I just would like to know what are all the signs for Allen Masters and if it is possible to only have one of the signs.
