 Allergic to the Pill?
Hi everyone!
I just thought I would write in to this supportive community because I am pretty confused with the entire medical part of this disease.. it is so unnerving sometimes going in to doctors appointments when there is so much confusion on this disease and not enough awareness out there... sometimes I feel like I'm more knowledgeable on this than my own doctors! Anyways, just last week.. after years of extremely bad joint problems, along with a whole slew of other issues - my doctor tells me that I am probably allergic to the pill. Something that I have been on for 4 years now, for contraception as well as reducing my risk of developing ovarian cysts (has not helped at all!).. I had no idea you could even be allergic to the pill! I have been tested for everything, from Rheumatoid Arthritis to Lupus and everything has come back normal. Oddly enough though, people in my family have noticed the butterfly rash on my face?? I am so confused.. does anyone have any insight on either of these issues? I had a negative ANA test, and I'm pretty sure I was tested for some other ones as well... what is going on in our bodies!! It seems like this disease continues to wreck havoc on us all.. and nobody (doctors) seem to know what to do with us! Argh, so aggravating....
