maybe this will help someone, I have discovered some things I am sensitive to that make me breakout, and not just me but one of my sisters, and some friends.
-Anything with SPF in it, it burns and stings, and itches when i put it on, and it too much to bear if i go outside in the sun. also listed on ingredient list as titanium dioxide or iron oxide.
-Also, mica, the shiny refelective stuff, can't use it. I tried the bare minerals makeup, and it has mica and a spf, and it made me break out in hugh knots, not only me, but my sister, who has GREAT skin! Who knew? It is supposed to be safe for all skin!
-Also, I have tried Murad acne products, and the cleanser has alot of extracts from plants and stuff, it made me red and itchy, and the philosophy purity made simple cleanser has done the same, it has many of the same ingredients. There are alot so i don't know which one it is.
so now when I shop for makeup, i have to look at the lists on the label. It is very hard to find makeup without spf in it, just about everything has it. when i buy powder blush or face powder i have to make sure the first few ingredients aren't mica or titanium dioxide. Hope this helps!

I know what you mean. For years, I had this rash type thing of white bumps under my skin and couldn't get rid of it. Finally, I realized it was allergies to all the stuff I put on my face. I gave up blush altogether, but I'm always on the serach for foundation. Like you said, it's almost impossible to find foundation that is just color. I miss the days when Almay actually was for sensitive skin. Nowdays, everything has SPF and all sorts of acids to reduce wrinkles or prevent acne.

I also have weird allergic reactions to certain ingredients. I find that I'm usually allergic to the fragrance that's added to makeup and lotions, but I must also be allergic to other ingredients because sometimes the fragrance doesn't affect me at all. The makeup that I'm using now has no SPF in it, and I have been using it for a couple of years with no problems. It's the Neutrogena Skin Clearing makeup. Might be worth a try. I just recently spent about $50 on some acne stuff from Philosophy, and I think I'm allergic to something in there because instead of my face clearing up like I was hoping it would, it started to break out in these little whiteheads all over. So, that was $50 down the drain, and weeks to try and clear up the damage! I've also found that tea tree oil helps to clear up blemishes, and some of the scars from old zits. The Body Shop has a whole line of products with tea tree oil in them. So far, I've only used the Blemish Stick, but it seemed to really help (even my husband noticed a difference). I ran out, so I'll definitely be buying that again, in addition to some other things - maybe a toner or face wash. Anyway, I hope that helps
I'm another one that is allergic to a lot of skin care products and makeup, even a lot of the ones for sensitive skin because they still contain fragrances. I'm also allergic to tea tree oil, so I can't even use products that contain that as an ingrediant
Recently I have switched all my skincare products to Simple skincare (available in the UK and Aus, not too sure about the US). It has no chemicals and no fragrances. My skin has improved so much since using it, and I no longer get the reddness from rosacea. I still can't use their whole range though, I've had to cut toner out completely as it was still causing me trouble, but most of their products I can use with no problems.
With makeup I have switched to Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals, and it is amazing. I don't have any problems with it at all and I really recommend it to people with sensitive skin. I used to hate putting on makeup, but I still did it because without it my skin looked so gross, but now I really look forward to it, and everyone keeps commenting on how great I've been looking. It's really amazing, and covers so well. It's great.
My advice to anyone with sensitive skin is to just keep looking around and trying recommendations until you find a product that is right for you, cos it is out there. Good luck

thanks for posting this about the ingredients. i use neutrogena foundation makeup, but i've gotten to the point that i can't wear eye makeup--any brand. all of them that i've tried, whether cheap or expensive, give me a rash on my eyelids. but i'm going to look at the ingredients on the makeup i have and then shop for something made with other ingredients. that sounds like a good plan!
