Thumbs up Almond Butter

I recently found a great substitute for Peanut Butter. A company called Barney Butter (http://www.barneybutter.com/index.html) makes an almond butter that is similar in texture and consistency to peanut butter. It is very hard to find in stores (even in Atlanta where I live) but you can order it from their website. I really like that fact they sell 90calorie single serving packs which are great for snacks on the go. It is about the same calories as peanut butter but about half the saturated fat and has more fiber and delicious.

You can get almond butter at whole foods. You actually have to put the nuts in the grinder. They have a selection...You can make peanut, almond, cashew or whatever nut you like.

I have also tried this almond butter and it is delicious but very different from the Barney Butter brand. I find the Whole Foods stuff to have lots of texture, basically mashed/finely chopped nuts which is normal considering how it is made. The Barney Butter is just like regular peanut butter just made with almonds.

I prefer each for different things.
