 Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency
Does anyone have this?
I was diagnosed as a small child after my doctor found my liver to be enlarged and panels came up positive. They ran many tests on me, and just when they were about to get a liver biopsy, my liver enzymes normalized. My case was put away, and nothing else was said about it.
Now that I am older and responsible for my health, I'm currently trying educate myself on what A1AD may mean for my future, but I frankly feel so very lost and overwhelmed. I have the SZ phenotype, and no known complications so far other than a bit of wheezing with colds and during/after exercise.
Help?
