Default Also so very tired (and sick too)

I started on 500mg about 11 days ago. Have been on 1000 for 4 days now. I was fine on 500mg...but boy oh boy, 2 days into the 1000 dose, I can barely drag myself through the day. I am constantly nauseous, really can't face food (but get even sicker and tireder if I don't eat), and can hardly cope with getting through the evening til bed-time

Anyone know how long this lasts? I have only been able to work a half day the past couple of days and am freaking out that I'm not going to be able to deliver on my commitments for the next few weeks...

I also can't figure out what to eat to settle my stomach - my low carb diet has kind of gone out the window, 'cause I am having to eat bread just b/c it is so bland...am wondering whether I am undoing all the good work..

hi

hope you feel better soon. I was soooo tired on met, when I started. I only ate a little bit too. I always find that I'm worse if I eat greasy/ fatty/ sweet things too . then I get Metformin Revenge.
Hope you feel better soon

Hi Susanna:

Hang in there! I am now on my 2nd month of Met (I started @ 1500 mg/day)...and it hit me pretty hard too.

Eating oranges worked for me. I stayed away from fatty foods, soda, or things with a lot of sugar in it. And, I don't know if you had this or not, but I had a really yucky taste in my mouth. So I chewed gum in between meals, and ate ice cubes. Finally, I drink tons and tons of water.

Things started to improve. Hang in there
