Default Alternative to Met?

I've been "trying" to take Met for awhile. I love what the medication does for me, such as helps me lose weight, and keeps it from coming back the moment I look at food, I love the energy it gives me and all that... BUT... no matter how long I take it for I have the runs BAD. To the point that I wouldn't go anywhere because I was always running to the potty, or I just wouldn't take the met, which because I am TTC and what it does to my temps (it really helps keep them evened out) and the additional benifits to those of us TTC not taking it is not an option... is there an alternative that is less harsh on your stomach? With less side effects? I'm looking for a job right now and would hate to explain to my new employer (when I find one) oh by the way every 1/2 hour or so I have to RUN to the bathroom... and then about 1/2 hour after I eat it's about every 10 minutes... I know thats TMI for alot of you but well, it's the truth... I need help!
thanks ahead of time!
Tammy

I put up with nasty met side effects for nearly 9 months. It was terrible; but, I am glad that I stuck with it because it is the only thing that has helped me. I get semi-regular AF, my hirsutism is not as bad, and my acne is definately much improved. Now I only get "met attacks" every two weeks or so.

I hope that you find something that will work for you!

I've had bad problems with Met also. For a while I switched to Avandia (which I *LOVE*), but my RE wanted me on metformin also while TTC. So I have been taking both. It seems that combined with Avandia met works fine for me in smaller doses.

Could you talk to your doctor about Avandia or Actos or even Avandamet?

I hope you are able to find a solution. I know how badly those "stomach issues" suck. Good luck!
