Default Alternative to pads and tampons?

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for alternatives for pads and tampons. I don't really like using tampons everyday during AF, they irritate me. I was fine just using pads, except now I've started having allergic reactions to them. I've been trying to avoid brands that give me a reaction as well as brands with colors and fragrances. The problem is that every brand is including fragrance now. For example I bought stayfree awhile back, making sure to check that it didn't have anything on it about fragrances, I got it home opened it and to my dismay found that it was scented. I'm so mad that it didn't say that on the packaging. I'm starting to think that the manufacturers of these products need to include an ingredient list on their packaging. Even brands that say they're organic or natural don't have accurate labeling. I'm fed up of looking, so if anyone can help me out, please do.

well there is the diva cup...you can find it in most health food stores.
I have never tried it but its the only alternative i can think of to pads and tampons.
i have also heard of the sponge...but not sure how hygienic that is.

maybe look in the natural/health stores for any alternatives for pads and tampons...they usually like to carry more natural, dye and fragrance free products.

I've seen GladRags at one of our local organic stores. You might want to check them out. I can't post a link until I have a few more posts, but just google "gladrags" and it should be the first result.

the diva cup/moon cup/keeper is the best. A lot of cysters use them and they'd never go back to tampons or pads.

I have been using mine for over a year now and I am absolutely delighted, have saved loads of money, it's environmentaly friendly and very comfortable. Have a look.

I have been thinking of trying the organic kind, too, because I have developed a rash/irritation from the others. I can't use tampons because on top of everything else I have a septum that runs from the vaginal opening through the cervix, and into the uterus. Therefore I have two vaginal openings. If I used a tampon I would probably have to use two and I don't really think that would be a good idea.

Thanks for your answers ladies! I really appreciate the help. It's bad enough to have to deal with all the things we have to already, the last thing I need is to have to deal with an allergic reaction everytime I have AF. All of you are fantastic!
