Alternatives to BCP

Ok, here it is. My doctors are saying that there isn't anything else besides birth control pills to stop hair growth, which right now is the only thing I have a problem with. To me, birth control pills carry more risk then not taking them. I also have hypothyrodism and the pills and it clash from what the insets say but doctors say...oh no they don't. i have already had one ovary and tube removed due to a ruptured cyst and even hystorectomy carries less risks then birth control pills do. I have been on every pill there is I think, Yasmin, Nordette, lower estogens, higher ones, and hair growth still way up there. I am going to be seeing and endo in Novemeber and hope he/she can point me the right way but I would love some backup on some alternatives. I would like to find something prescription not "herbal" at this point, and leave that for later or to help inhance the prescription. Please help me or I'm gonna look like a grisly bear real soon. (LOL)

Have you treated the underlying problem before attempting to tackle symptoms?.... are you insulin resistant and are you doing anything to treat that first and foremost? I've noticed slower facial and body hair growth on myself when I've been on a low carb, high protein diet. When I go off of it, the hair comes right back, and those on the head fall right off
