Default Alternatives to Provera?

I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago, and took Provera every 4 months with no problems. Starting in September 2006, I just generally felt horrible when I took it. In November 06, I only took 1 of the 10 prescribed pills because I had chest pain, dizziness, and my muscles felt incredibly sore and weak. I tried to take it one more time in February, and after only taking one pill, I had severe chest pain and had absolutely no strength for 5 days. The funny thing is, even though I took only 1 pill, I still had a normal 7-day period.

It is now May and I'm "due" for a period in June. There is no way I'm going to take Provera again, and I can't get to a doctor right now (my insurance was just cancelled). The reason I was prescribed Provera was becase my OBGYN didn't think BC pills were safe for me (I'm overweight and have slightly high blood pressure). So if I can't take Provera, and they won't let me try birth control pills, what are my options? I'm only 23 and I'm just overwhelmed by all the problems that come with PCOS.

BTW, obviously I'm a newbie. I just found this site and I'm so happy to see others who understand what I'm going through.
