Default Alternatives for weight loss

Hey girls. I have been desperately trying to lose weight, with no luck at all. You can see what meds I am on in my siggy. I have literally tried every type of eating plan out there, never more than 1600 cals in a day, usually closer to 1200. I exercise 5 days a week, kickboxing/aerobics for 45 mins, minimum. Yes, I do strength training. Please, before anyone says maybe you're just not exercising enough or anything along those lines, let me just say, please don't. Because I am. Even my doctors are stumped. Many people don't believe me, they think I have some stash of chocolate somewhere or something, which hurts immensely. I do not qualify for weight loss surgery, which I am not sure I would do even if I did. Does anyone have any ideas on what could help?? Acupuncture? Anything? I am so tired of having to bust my a$$ exercising and watching everything I put in my mouth with no result.

Thanks!!

So at 1200 calories a day and working out 5 days a week for a month, the scale doesn't budge at all? What about your body composition? Has THAT changed? With that type of diet/exercise, you should AT LEAST have a shift in bodyfat and lean muscle that might not show up on the scale, but would only be evident in underwater weighing or BodPod.

If 1200 + 5 days produces no changes AT ALL, you might want to consider switching doctors - not diet plans. You might need to have some tests run to see what the problem is...

I relate--same problem here, and everyone thinks I cheat. This has been going on forever, since I started menses in fact. I find that massive exercise isn't any better than a bit of moderate exercise--too much seems to increase inflammation in body (you can tell that's happening if you swell up when exercising--I have a ring that won't come off if I'm bloating). Even fasting on no food or drink except water doesn't help. Avoiding all grains like the plague helps somewhat, and oddly enough, eating a lot more saturated fat is probably the most helpful thing so far, in that I immediately lost almost 10 pounds, a veritable miracle, and it stayed off too, plus many very good things happened--I had a normal period for the first time in my whole life, my blood pressure dropped 30 points, my energy exploded, I felt great, and my kidneys flushed out a bunch of reddish-brown gunk for 3 days. Then it stopped--I am not sure why--the weight remains gone, but other benefits evaporated, normal dysfunction returned. I am trying to figure out what changed, because for about 4 weeks it was like heaven! Nonetheless, I highly recommend the experience--only good came of it, and at least I have had 4 weeks of "normalcy" in my lifetime. It was wonderful. Normal people ought to be more grateful.
hope this helps...

jallyson,

Are you eating a low-carb diet?

Trust me, I feel your pain. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE can not believe that "I am as big as I am". I eat right, eat healthy, exercise, and nothing. I have weighed the same thing for the last 10 years, with the exception of childbirth (I only gained 10lbs with first and 15lbs with second, and left the hospital weighing the exact same thing, that I always have). I don't mean to sound negative, because I am greatful, I could be gaining weight. But it is easy to get discouraged. Just keep trying. One of my favorite sayings is: "if you can see it in your mind, then you will find it in your life."

hey girls! I was tought that if u do the same routine over and over again that your body will get use to it so its just as if u were doing nothing at all. sure ur heart will be healthy still but u will not see an improvement. u should alternate ur workout a lot.

i hope this helps some
