I am quiet new to SC, so please forgive me if I am repeating another thread. I looked but did not see it anywhere. I was first dx with PCO in 2000-2001, which took forever to get a dx. Up until now, I have only been treated with BCPs. I am now taking Met not because of diabetes but just to help control the side effects of PCO according to the endo. I started asking questions about PCO, but was told that not a lot was known about it. I sometimes feel like the doctors look at me like a hypochondriac and not someone who really needs help. I always feel bad, tired, achy, depressed, and just plain out crappy! I never want to do anything or go anywhere. If I could have things my way I would never leave my bedroom. My daughter is the only thing that keeps me going anymore. She is my heart and my life! Am I the only one that feels this way?

KarlaC - sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I used to feel that way all the time and sometimes still do. The best thing I ever did was start exercising regularly and eating better. I personally do the IR diet but I think any diet that is low on bad carbs for someone with PCOS helps. At least that seems to be my experience and others on this site.
I am not sure if you are already doing things like this or not. For me it normally takes about a week of doing the exercise/eating thing before I start feeling better. It's hard to start, especially when feeling really down and tired, but so worth it. It really helps me with my moods and I feel better about myself when I take care of myself.
Just my thoughts. Take care of yourself and I hope things turn around for you soon!

I'm going through this myself right now. I could just sit in one spot all day. Nothing excites me. I'm just going through the motions right now. I just started getting real strict about what I eat, and that alone has helped my self esteem, just knowing I'm heading in the right direction. Now I need to add regular exercise. I know that will help a ton! I also understand it's really hard to get moving when you are feeling like this. I promise to exercise if you do!
hi, im sorry to hear you are going through this. it sounds like you are going through a bout of depression, which is really common with PCOS. I too know what thats like. my suggestion would be to take things day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute if you have to. also, make small goals for yourself. and keep telling yourself that things will get better. : ) (((hugs))) im sorry you have to be going through this, its never fun.

I do exercise, I go to the gym 4 times a week with friends and have been for awhile but I can not tell a difference. The only thing I have a hard time with is staying away from carbs. I am a bread junkie! I am not very clear on the whole good and bad carb thing; maybe you all can help with that! As far as the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Jashobeam, I have not questioned my doctor about that. (Thanks for the link!) When I try to talk to my endo about the PCO, he doesn't respond well and just changes the conversation back to my thyroid, which seems to be all he is concerned about! I need some answers and I can not find a doctor that can answer them. The ones I have wants to either look at me with this "omg, not another hypochondriac" look on their face, or want to change my BCPs. I did not mean to come across as a complainer, I am not, honestly! Sometimes, it just all builds up and I have to release to someone and I just don't have anyone that understands except all of you!
Thanks for listening, giving advice, and not thinking ill of me!
