Default Am I the only one?

Hi cysters

I started taking 500mg of Met last monday and I have noticed that my appetite has increased...I've read through a couple of threads and noticed a few cysters lost their appetites due the s.e. The only s.e. i've noticed is a mild upset tum tum (except for last night when I stupidly had potatoe salad and fried chicken for dinner--HUGE HUGE mistake!!!) I take my dose before bed and wake up STARVING! Has this happened to anyone else? I'm hoping it doesnt get worse as I am supposed to up my dosage to 1000mg in another week

I've noticed I'm hungrier too since starting met last month. I did lose my appetite for the first few weeks. I was starving, but nothing sounded good. When I did it I would have to force each bite I ate at most meals. I knew I had to eat or I would get sick. Once I did eat I normally felt better, but I hated food! I had to adjust how and when I eat. I now eat 3 smaller meals and have 2-3 snacks a day. If I don't keep food in my stomach I'll regret it big time. I'm not sure if it goes away, I'm interested to see the other responses to your question.

I've been on Met since October of last year. I'm currently on 1000 mg/day, but since starting it, I've been starving. I can eat a meal, and then 15 minutes later it's like I haven't ate anything. I'm thinking about asking my dr for Byetta because of it works as an appetite suppressant.

Personally I just followed my doctor's time table on increasing my met. I figured he has his patients do it that way for a reason. I thought about moving up from 1000mg to 1500mg (he has you on 1000mg for 2 weeks) since I wasn't feeling that bad but decided against it in the end. That's just my opinion of course.

Default Hungry in the morning

I am right there with you with morning starvation!!! I can't say that I was ever a breakfast eater before I started taking Met. Now, I wake up thinking about food. I guess it ended up being a good thing for me because I'm eating breakfast almost everyday now. I only notice that I am extra hungry in the morning...not any other time during the day.

This is exactly what I'm going through...Im not a breakfast person either but I tell you it feels like my stomach is digesting itself when I wake up!

I started off taking my met in the morning and I was ravenous all day, it's only just subsided a few days ago and I account this to a few things. The first being that I have increased the dose to 2000mg, and the second is that I have decreased the amount of carbs I'm eating. I have discovered that when I have oatmeal or cereal (even when balanced with protein) that I am hungry all day long. When I have just protein, no desire to eat constantly. Isn't that weird? Wish I discovered this a long time ago. ......

I noticed a huge increase in appetite when I first started met and then each time after I increased it. It wore off after about a week or so, and then I really lost my appetite (I was actually spitting food out - couldn't even stand it on my tongue). I've been on it 9 months now and it eventually kind of evened into where I get full much quicker and my appetite is more "even" throughout the day. (Unfortunately, even though I know I am eating less, I haven't lost much weight. It's weird. I know I'm eating less by my food diary and even my family has noticed, but nothing is budging even with exercise).
