I have hair under my chin (obviously) and its all over my stomach!! and very faint on my chest. Its driving me crazy! I wont do laser.
No, you're not weird. With PCOS we tend to get hair in many or most of the places males do, though we tend to have rather less and to develop it rather later. A bit of beard growth on the chin is normal for PCOS. Stomach hair is very common as is chest hair. You're no different from most of us.
I've got the strays on my belly, upper lip, and some on my chin- none of my chest and i think thats because my dad is not hairy except for the face and stomach. He used to pluck hair out of hishead and stick it on his chest as a joke because he has none there.
Oh and knuckles and toes; he's got hair there. So guess who else has hair there; me, thats right.
I have alot of hair on and under my chin I pluck everyday and wax every 3 to 4 days. After I'm done TTC my Dr. said he knows of a good product that will get rid of the hair! My Dr. also said that Metformin slows the hair growth. I've been on Metformin for 6 months now and can't tell the difference
I currently have chin hair light hair on the sides of my face, stomach and chest. I am currently taking spiro with hopes of making the hair on my chin finer and keeping the fine hair from turning terminal I know its a pain but I just try to stay positive
Honey I look like a man when it comes to my belly! My chin is not so bad. My side burns might rival elvis' at least that's what im told. My upper lip is bad. My arm make me look like a chimp.
I'm right there with you! I shave some and use hair removal cream on some - it's a pain! Oh and to Samantha - I didn't realize my sideburns were so bad until my Dad said something one day because he truly didn't know....talk about wanting to dig a hole! I dunno how long I roamed around looking like the King before he notice! I use Veet now!

I've had facial hair since grade 8, so it would be hard for anyone in my life not to realize it. My dad would've done anything to help me get rid of it because of the ridicule I had to put up with for it.
One instance (it's funny looking back on it)... in grade 9, the boys always called me "Burns" or "Sideburns" because of... well... my long sideburns. So, I Naired them away one night. The next day during phys. ed. one of the boys yelled "Pass it to sideburns!" and I yelled back "I don't have those anymore!" And they all started laughing and yelling "Sideburns shaves! Sideburns shaves!" Embarrassing at the time, but I get a good laugh out of that now. Most of the guys who made fun of me became my friends later on in high school.

Adie you'll find plenty of threads about how hairy we all are... I don't get chest hair and the hair on my stomach is OK, but my BUTT is hairy which is much worse!!!
You sound like yours isn't that bad. I hope it stays that way for you. I'm nearly through a tube of Vaniqa and I am torn over whether to buy another, since it works somewhat but is $50 a tube.
My full legs are as hairy as my dad's! And the hair on my arms gets pretty long too. I have a few longer hairs on my lower abdomen but the hair on my stomach and chest is very light and faint...vellus I guess.
Does this mean our T levels (while higher than females) will never be as high as a mans?
No. It means that our testosterone levels, while on average higher than those of the average female will on average be lower than those of the average male.
Straightening that out, some individual women with PCOS will have higher testosterone levels than some males. Other women with PCOS may have testosterone levels lower than the average female. But when you consider all PCOS women together, you'd expect most of them to have testosterone levels much higher than those of the average female and somewhat lower than those of the average male.
And of course, it shows in the results of the testosterone. Some women here have beard growth heavier than that of many men. But most women here, though they may have significant moustache and beard growth, have significantly less than the average man, though much more than the average woman. And some women here don't really have a hair problem at all.
No you're not the only weird one. I have hair issues too.
I shave my legs, pits, tops of feet, and toes. I wax my upperlip, chin, sideburns and forearms. I was so self conscious I'd not wear any short sleeve shirts because the hair was sooo dark.
