There was recently a thread in this forum asking for an adoptive family for four boys. I responded. I contacted the social worker a few times via email and telephone. Have heard nothing in return.
Am I just too gullible? Does this sound like a "for real" thing to you?

No, you are NOT gullible. I had read it before and it seemed legitimate. Besides, no one should ever joke around about something like that. You offered your help, and if they haven't responded, it's nothing against you!

Maybe they had too many calls about those children and they are not calling anyone back anymore bacuse it was just taking up too much time?
Maybe they found a family already?

Maybe. I really hope so! I received an email for me to call the worker a few days ago. I called, left a message, called again w/ another message. No call back. Then I emailed again and yesterday did receive an email back, saying that she was going to call me this morning. No call.
I sincerely hope that they have found a home for the boys and that's why they haven't contacted me. I hate thinking that there's a scam going on.

Just voicemails. I did just receive another email from her saying she's been busy. We'll see if she calls!

We at one time were interested in 5 little girls that were up for adoption and didn't hear anything for probably a month! Social workers at DHS are VERY busy and short staffed. The system is so screwed up. They pay a crazy amount of money for foster care and don't have enough left over to get enough workers to process getting kids out of the system and adopted. It's just crazy cycle and of course once again the kids lose. IMHO
