I recently bought this book at Barnes and Noble and I must have read through half of it in my first sitting. For women like us with hormonal problems it can ring true on so many issues. This doctor has dedicated his life to women's hormonal problems and alot of the chapters inside deal directly with many of the problems that we face on a day to day basis. What I love about this book is that there is never at any time stated there is no way to fix this or that problem. It gives hope and understanding to us, when sometimes we feel no one understands or wants to understand. Anyway, without further ado, here is the info and amazon.com link:
"It's Your Hormones"
by Geoffrey Redmond, M.D.
Amazon
I'm still finishing this book but it's definitely something I am glad I read. I now feel like I have options and that there is more than just hope for me to feel normal again.

Hi,
I just read this book too. It is really informative in ways the average Dr. would be ignorant of perhaps.
I wish I could talk to Dr. Redmond. I'd ask him his opinion on almost zero carb dieting (he feels it's pretty much needed for pcos) because I get violently ill eating super low carb (heart palps etc...) and then my breath goes bad, which makes me concerned for my kidneys.
Lastly, I'd ask him about restoring sex drive to pcos girls who's testosterone isn't actually low. He would probably recommend viagra or cialis. Probably worth a try!!!

Another great book is "A Patients Guide to PCOS" by Walter Futterweit, MD with George Ryan. I must have read half of it the first night that I bought it. It is very informative and answered a lot of questions. If anyone gets it, let me know what you think of it.

That's something that REALLY gets to me. I have an unusually high Testosterone level (even Dr.Sherif said she's only seen 1-2 cases tops this high), but absolutely no sex drive. Which in turn makes the hubby go crazy. I don't know what to do about it, I feel like a freak.

Dear AngelaCM-
Is your Dr. checking your adrenal glands? Super high testosterone requires your adrenals being screened absolutely. You possibly know this already. Mui importante!
