Hello,
I am Tor and i am 24. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago.
Whilst snooping around i read some of your posts from fellow Cysters across the pont.
I must say that you all know so much more about your PCOS than i do.
Even though i asked my Dr lots of questions all she said ' we will send you for tests', so i turned up to the hospital knowing nothing about what was going to happen to me. I was given an internal exam and told to wait for the results.
My Doctor then told me i have PCOS, she didn't say how mild or extream it is. I was given Metformin, i wasn't gradually put on it i was given 1000 mgs and told to take them 3 times a day. There was no leaflet to help me understand this. All she said was there are some good websites
after taking it for about 6 months and having all of the side affects for the whole 6 months and after a number of visits to the doctor, all i was told ' they will go away soon just carry on taking them'. I stopped taking them, and i havent been to my doctor since. i am trying to change doctors but there is such a long waiting list for anyother doctor in my area.
I feel the treatment you ladies have recived seem to be much better and you seem to have a better understanding of what is happening to your bodies!
I personally feel let down by the NHS (national health service).
Oh well there is my little rant!
Tor xx
