Today is an ok day other than the fact that I'm @ my crappy job, I'm on lots of Vicadin, my stomach is killing me, down there feels like I'm being stabbed w/ a hot poker over and over again, and I've already gotten sick once today from eating a bite of a breakfast bar that has never affected me...
We got to my OB/Gyn's @ about 9:45 (9/10) and talked to him for alittle bit. We went over to the Surgery Center @ about 10:30 or so and my surgery wasn't until noon. We sat in the waiting room for alittle bit and then they called me back. I layed there for alittle bit and all these nurses kept coming in to check on me. They finally got an IV in me b/c I have veins that are no good... They found a really good one so they grabbed it right away before they lost it. I was so nervous that I felt like I was going to be sick. I just kept crying and crying. Chris stayed w/ me until it was time to go. The anastesiologist (can't spell today...the drug dr) came in and gave me something in my IV to relax me and said I might not remember anything. It was time to go...
I remember hugging and kissing Chris bye and I remember going down the hall. I remember seeing my dr. waiting for me in the hall w/ a whole bunch of other people. I remember going in to the OR and I remember sliding over to the other table. I don't remember anything after that until I woke up. I had an asthma attack when I woke up and my bp kept fluctuating and my blood oxygen level kept going all out of whack...it would be very high then it would be very low. I got moved after alittle bit to a different area and Chris could come in. I got something to drink and sat there for alittle bit until they felt that I could go home. Chris said that the dr came out and talked to him and he said that he was glad we didn't wait any longer b/c there was alot in there and it would have made me sick if all that tissue stayed in me any longer. My dr. told him that it did take alittle longer than usual which is what he thought before the surgery started. It took about 25 minutes to complete.
We left the surgery center and went to the store to get my meds. They gave me Doxycycline for infection (to make sure I don't get one...); Vicodin for pain; & Naproxin for cramps (it's a muscle relaxant). I have to take the Doxycycline 2 x's/day for the next 2 weeks. The Vicodin & Naproxin are as needed for pain. I'm also on BCP's for the next month to see if the cysts go down.
I have to go back in 2 weeks to see him. He said it won't really be for a physical checkup but more of a mental checkup b/c even though I don't have a baby, I could still have postpartum depression b/c of all the pg hormones that were in me. I am feeling fine mentally, better than I thought I would be....

Glad to hear things went "as well as can be expected", and I bet you will be feeling better (physically) in no time. I. also had a lot of tissue....and unfortunately, that was the reason we couldn't travel for the Christmas holiday that year....they didn't want me to hemrrage (sp?)...but they were able to get all the tissue out, which is very important...and all was fine. I hope your cysts go down, because I suspect that is the hot poking feeling you are describing. Take care of yourself...you'll be back on the band wagon in no time!

I'm still spotting which the dr. said I would but I'm not spotting as bad as I thought I would be.
My mom had a D&C about 30 years ago and she said she felt the same hot poker thing up there too so I just assumed it was normal. Of course w/ her D&C they actually scraped, with mine, they suctioned so that's different. She also had to stay overnight in the hospital w/ hers back then.
