Yeah, for as long as I can remember. I only hear it at night laying down if my head is a certain way on the pillow. My doctor said it was a form of tinittis (spelling?) or ringing in the ears and that it wasn't anything to worry about.

I too have had a wooshing heart-beat sound in my head over the last few months.
First it started just at night when I would lay down, and has slowly evolved to starting earlier and earlier in the day, until now I can hear it even in the morning sometimes
About a month ago, I got a weird ticking sound in my ear! It only lasted about a week, didn't matter the time of day, just randomly, and then it just quit.
After I started hearing the wooshing in my ears, I also noticed that my heart seemed to be beating rather hard sometimes, even hard enough to make my shirt flutter! I was also starting to get winded really easily, and sometimes even felt weak or dizzy.
I went to the Dr., she thought it may be my thyroid and had me a do a blood test, well yesterday, they said my thyroid was normal, and then today they called and want me to come in today because I am anemic!
I was like, well ya, I just got done bleeding for a year straight! But they still want me to come in, so I don't know if the wooshing in my ears is related to being anemic, but I will let ya know

calubsmum - Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! I still have not found out why I can hear my heart beat, I guess I am going to have to push the issue with my Dr. and see if I can get her to check into it for me. Waiting to hear about your CT scan!
