I'm 20 years old and I was just diagnosed a few days ago. I've been really depressed ever since. When the doctor told me what I had he didn't explain ANYTHING to me, didn't really tell me the symptoms or the causes or anything, he just gave me a prescription for birth control pills and told me I had to lose weight. When I came home I looked it up online and was shocked to see the symptoms. It just seemed like every weird thing I had been noticing with myself was on the list. I had been so frustrated with my ever increasing facial hair, and ridiculous excessive weight gain (40 pounds in the past year). I was also surprised to see that the pounding heart beat I've been feeling and even the sleep apnea were listed as symptoms. I was kind of relieved to finally figure out what was wrong with me (I thought I was dying), but I've been really really upset. I'm a very picky eater and it used to be that all I ate was carbs. Today was my second day eating a really reduced carb diet but I'm having a hard time finding anything I actually enjoy eating. Also, all I've ever wanted to be was a mommy, and I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that that may not happen the way I want. I've felt so alone so it was really nice to find this forum. Sorry for the long rant...

Rainbow i remember the shocked feelng and feeling that i was the only person in the world who had all these problems, then i found soulcysters i have gained so much support from the cysters here i hope you find some too. good luck in controling the condition.
