Default another newbie

My name's Laura and I'm not really new to PCOS, but I definitely have a lot to learn. I have two sons, ages 6 and 4, both conceived using 50mg clomid and no other treatment. I pretty much lucked out the first two times. I really didn't go to anyone who had a whole lot of knowledge about my condition and they basically just handed me the prescription and sent me on my way. It took 4 cycles with my first and 2 with my second.

This time, I went to an RE right off the bat when we decided to start trying. She put me on metformin and 50mg clomid the first month and I didn't ovulate plus my progesterone levels tested low. 2nd month I was on the met & 100mg clomid. She had me come in for a follicle study and it showed a mature follicle that hadn't released yet so I got the HCG shot and ovulated the next day. I started progesterone 4 days after the shot. I had a short (for me anyway) LP that month and got my period only 13 dpo (normally I'm about 16 on clomid). This last cycle I decided not to do the follicle study or the trigger shot because of the holidays and the added cost and see what happened. I o'd 3 days later than the previous month and my LP was 19 days (still on the progesterone). Now I'm on day 1 of cycle 4.

My Re's office closed early today so I didn't get to her in time, so I'll have to talk to her on monday about what to do. I'm really frustrated with the side effects I'm having from the Progesterone (prometrium) though. I WILL NOT do it again! It makes me the evil *itch from he** and dizzy and both cycles afterwards have been the worst cramps I have ever had. There has to be something else I can take. Any Ideas? I'm not opposed to more natural solutions. In fact, If my RE doesn't have any good solutions to the progesterone thing, I may just tell her I'm taking some time off from TTC and go consult with a naturopath I know of who specializes in infertility.

Welcome to SC! I wish I could offer some advice but I haven't seen a RE yet. Since we're not -really- going to start trying until February (although I haven't used any sort of birth control since last March) he suggested I lose a little weight, even if it was only 10 pounds, before I followed up with him. Then he'll send me to a RE.

Wishing you the very best luck though.
