Have recently (last 2 weeks) been told I have polycystic ovaries, a totally blocked follicle, hypothyroid and parathyroid, it's a bit of a relief to find this site and know that I'm not the only one going through this.
I got married in September and have been off of the pill since January and our aim was to try to conceive just before our wedding. So we automatically assumed we would get pregnant as soon as we started trying - however it hasn't happened yet.
I then worked out how many periods I have had since Jan and it only worked out to be 3 so I booked a doctors app. I've since had a scan and blood test and was diagnosed with the above.
I understand that it's still only early days for us, but I'm also very aware that it's going to be a bit of a struggle.
Are there any positive stories out there as am still feeling pretty negative about the whole thing.
lovely to meet you ,welcome to sc i was sooo scared when i got dx, but this site is amazing. there is so much to learn, which type of dr are you seeing??
there is a link to the newbie roadmap in my siggie for you
welcome to SC! this is a great site i also got diagnosed jsut before i got married 3 and a half years ago. it will be more of a struggle for you to get pregnant but its not impossible if you check out the pregnancy boards and mommy boards on here it will show you that it is possible! are you being referred to a gynae now? the first step is usually to put you on metformin which helps a lot of women to ovulate then if that doesnt work the step is usually clomid. please check out the trying to conceive boards on here for more information theres lots of great threads and buddy groups to join. i have fallen pregnant twice myself the first time without any medication at all which ended in a miscarriage then the second time with the help of clomid but sadly that was an ectopic.
if you have an questions ask away......

Thank you for your comments Ladies. It's been a tough couple of weeks but it's nice to know of other people who actually know what I'm going through.
My regular GP has told me to continue taking my Thyroxin for 3 months and she will test me after that. She seems to think my hormones will get back to normal with this. I guess I can only try.
I do also have another blood test on the 6th Jan to determine how bad my parathyroid is so fingers crossed it's not as bad as originally thought and will hopefully be controlled with the thyroxin.
