Hi all. I was recently loosely diagnosed with PCOS. He ran all the tests and my levels are not where they SHOULD be if I had PCOS but he diagnosed me anyway cause of everything else going on with me... I am not taking anything for it aside from prenatal vitamins at this time. I was diagnosed with anemia and lost over 50% of my body's blood back in June, had a blood transfusion and got that under control. I was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the same time... (also a bladder infection but that went away fairy quickly)... for the past three months, it seems that I have been constantly sick...now I have pneumonia (right after I had my wisdom teeth out)... I swear one thing after another... Anyway, we are treating that... as well as trying to get my diabetes under control. I was switched from metformin to avandamet today. Not sure how that will work out but I am hopeful.
My diabetic numbers are never more than 300 and that is rare that it gets that high so I have hope that I can control this... I need to lose weight...
Here is a brief history. I have two boys from previous marriage. I have four stepkiddos from my husbands previous marriage. We both know we can produce kids. Both of us have been checked out and three years ago we did clomid with great results (good eggs) but no babies. We even tried insemination that failed. We took a break from all of that and will start again in january. My Dr says with the diabetic meds I have an even higher chance of success as long as I keep things in good range. Is that true?
So... i am curious as to those that have PCOS and diabetes... what are you doing to help keep things under control? Have you had success in trying to conceive? Have you had success losing weight? I need to get my act together and get myself healthy.. I am sick of being sick.
